Menhir Photonics partner, CyberRidge shortlisted for Photonics Frontiers Award
Menhir Photonics is very proud that our customer, CyberRidge, a leader in advanced data security, has been shortlisted for the highly anticipated Photonics Frontiers Award 2025. This recognition highlights CyberRidge’s groundbreaking contributions in the “photonic layer security post-quantum transmission” category, reinforcing their position at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation.
The Photonics Frontiers Award, from the publishers of Electro Optics, celebrates innovative projects where photonics plays a pivotal role in solving real-world challenges. It aims to amplify groundbreaking applications from integrators, OEMs, academic institutions, and end-users, connecting breakthrough photonics technologies with the audiences that need them most, fostering collaboration and driving further innovation in the field. Projects are judged on criteria including innovative use of photonics, tangible impact, growth potential, credible evidence, and high-quality submissions.
CyberRidge is revolutionizing data protection with its unique Photonic Encryption™ technology, which renders data in transit unrecordable and therefore unhackable, even against the formidable threat of quantum computers. Unlike conventional quantum encryption solutions, CyberRidge’s approach fundamentally changes the rules of quantum threat by eliminating the ability to record raw data, making it disappear for unauthorized users while appearing only for authorized users.
Their pioneering photonic layer encryption transforms critical data over high-capacity public infrastructure into undecipherable optical noise during transmission. This means that without instant photonic reconstruction at the receiver, transmitted data remains undecipherable optical noise forever, leaving no raw data to store or decipher now or later. This innovative method ensures unparalleled data stealth and security, proven unhackable by physics.
“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the entire CyberRidge team on this well-deserved shortlisting,” said Florian Emaury is co-founder and CEO of Menhir Photonics. “As a proud partner and supplier to CyberRidge, Menhir Photonics recognizes their unparalleled commitment to securing data in an increasingly complex digital landscape. Their innovation in photonic layer security is truly transformative, and we are excited to see them recognized by such a prestigious award.”
CyberRidge’s technology seamlessly integrates with existing optical channels and network infrastructures, including point-to-point and ring topologies, and is fully compatible with current standards. This flexibility, combined with its resistance to data recording, distinguishes it from other quantum encryption solutions.
The shortlisting of CyberRidge is a testament to their breakthrough scientific discovery led by Prof. Dan Sadot and developed by an elite team of experts, which is boldly changing the cybersecurity game rules by removing data from the game itself.
“We’ve spent decades building taller walls and stronger vaults to protect data, but what if we could make the vault itself disappear?” said Professor Dan Sadot, founder and CEO of CyberRidge. “Encryption assumes your data will be stolen and tries to slow attackers down. We’re taking a fundamentally different approach: eliminate the ability to record the data in the first place. If no raw data exists, there’s nothing to hack, today or years from now, no matter how powerful the computer.”
