With over 30 years of cumulative experience in the ultrafast laser industry, our team is devoted to offering cutting-edge femtosecond laser solutions allowing applications in any situation, from laboratories to harsh environment.

Through innovative design and technology, we have developed femtosecond laser systems reaching a repetition rate up to 2.5 GHz with unprecedent reliability and noise-performances.

Florian Emaury

CEO and Co-Founder

Drives strategy and sales to deliver robust ultrafast laser solutions.

Florian focuses on sales, marketing, strategy, and close collaboration with customers and partners, while aligning R&D and production teams to deliver innovative and robust ultrafast laser solutions that perform reliably in real-world applications.

Florian’s background spans the full path from ultrafast laser research to industrial deployment. Florian has worked on applications including metrology, microscopy, and nonlinear optics, with experience in both large companies and startups such as Fianium Ltd., Coherent Inc., and the Zurich-based startup Micpulse. These experiences shaped his belief that strong technology must be matched with reliability, scalability, and customer focus.

Florian holds an MSc in Photonics and Physics from the Institut d’Optique Graduate School in Paris and a PhD in Physics from ETH Zurich, completed in the group of Prof. Ursula Keller. Since co-founding Menhir Photonics in 2018, he has been building a company that combines engineering excellence with operational discipline and long-term partnerships.

Dr. Benjamin Rudin

CTO and Co-Founder

Leads ultrafast laser design from concept to reliable industrial products.

Beni brings more than two decades of experience in ultrafast laser technology, combining deep technical expertise with a strong focus on industrialization and product robustness. He holds a Master’s degree (2004) and a PhD in Physics (2010) from ETH Zurich, completed in the group of Prof. Ursula Keller, where he worked on ultrafast laser sources.

As CTO and co-founder of Menhir Photonics, Beni is at the core of the company’s product development. He is responsible for the design, supervision, and long-term technical direction of Menhir’s laser platforms, ensuring that cutting-edge innovation translates into reliable, manufacturable, and high-performance products. His pragmatic engineering mindset plays a key role in balancing performance, scalability, and quality across the product portfolio.

Anna Pogrebna

Strategy Manager, CFO and later-stage Co-Founder

Aligning scientific precision with strategic financial growth.

Anna oversees the strategic and financial health of Menhir Photonics, ensuring the company scales with the same discipline as its laser technology. She holds a PhD in Physics specializing in ultrafast spectroscopy and a Master’s in International Relations, a rare combination that allows her to bridge the gap between complex deep-tech development and global business operations.

With a background as a Marie Curie Fellow at EPFL and a track record in high-level project management, Anna provides the strategic framework necessary to navigate fundraising, marketing, and the transition from lab-scale innovation to a global industrial standard.

Anna was recognized as a late co-founder for her commitment and the impact of her actions in driving the company’s growth and scale-up.

Dario Leumann

COO

Scaling operational excellence for the next generation of laser technology.

Dario is responsible for the operational strategy and scaling of Menhir Photonics, ensuring our production and business processes keep pace with our global demand. An entrepreneurial engineer with a background from ETH Zurich, he brings extensive executive experience, including five years as CEO of LS Instruments, to the Menhir Photonics leadership team.

Dario specializes in transforming complex high-tech environments into streamlined, industrial-grade operations. Driven by a passion for sustainable innovation and precision engineering, he focuses on building the scalable infrastructure required to deliver our ultra-low noise laser solutions to the quantum and telecom markets at an unprecedented scale.
